The Alps is one of the great mountain ranges of Europe. It stretches form Austria and Slovenia in the east to Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Italy and France in the west. Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps at 4,807 meters, stands on the French-Italian border. Many major rivers in Europe flow from the Alps, such as the Rhone, the Rhine, and the tributaries of both the Danube and the Po. The melting of the glaciers on lower parts of the Alps forms many beautiful lakes.
阿尔卑斯山是欧洲最高大的山脉，位于欧洲南部，山脉东起奥地利和斯洛文尼亚，向西绵延至德国、列支敦士登、瑞士、意大利和法国，长约1，200公里，宽约48到260公里，平均海拔3，000米左右。阿尔卑斯山脉最高峰勃朗峰位于法国和意大利边境，高约4，807米。欧洲许多大河如罗讷河、莱茵河以及多瑙河、波河的支流均发源于此。山地冰川作用在阿尔卑斯山地区形成了许多湖泊。
